Fire-escape Garden

April 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Do you remember me?

I came to you with an aching

in my bones and teeth

lost and scared from the suburban sprawl.

I came to you botched

and ready for booze, ready for light,

for the wings that came with keys

and for the plethora of companions

you promised me.

I sat on your stoop,

sweaty and brown from the sun,

hungry for your love making,

and the music during which

our cries would sing.

All of the said I have now acquired, love.

It is now just a question

of having no questions

at all.
